Harborlites International Master Class – Hawaii 2008

Uncover the clues revealed by Harborlites at their Master Class held in Honolulu, Hawaii, in their program, “International Treasure M.A.P.: The Search for Musical Artistry and Physicality.”

This “treasure hunt” shared elements of the Harborlites chorus culture, reviewed the basics of the chorus’ Vocal Gold and Visual Gold programs, and taught the “secrets” of great visual plans and physically enhanced performances. The session also explored five of the skills employed by Director Pam Pieson, such as music selection and the use of vocal modeling.

Our goal in every performance is to honestly communicate the intrinsic message of each song and to take our audience on a sensory, emotional journey. By using our treasure M.A.P. and following the clues, Harborlites shared the secrets of musicality, artistry, and physicality with its audience.

Harborlites International Master Class – Detroit 2005

The goal of the Harborlites International Master Class, held in Detroit, was to introduce the Sweet Adelines audience to the Harborlites “Game Plan” – the in-house vocal and visual education programs we developed that ultimately brought us “A level” scores. The class also detailed the fitness program we implemented to give us the stamina we need to do what we do. Finally, the class offered musical and visual demonstrations of how we execute our performance plans, and Pam shared her philosophy of the role of personal leadership, teamwork, and passion in the success of the Harborlites Chorus.

If you’ve seen the movie “Miracle,” you know it is the story of the 1980 USA hockey team and its incredible gold medal victory over the Soviet Union. Harborlites believes in miracles…after all, who do WE play for? Harborlites!
