Harborlites Wins America Sings!
GMC, America's Favorite Network for Uplifting Music and Entertainment, announces Harborlites Chorus as the first place winner of their new original series, "America Sings". Hosted by multi-platinum recording artist, Dancing with the Stars winner and performer Drew Lachey, "America Sings" is an uplifting, one-of-a-kind victory of voices celebration that highlights North America's most talented singing groups and the communities they are from. After watching singing groups of all ages from across North America showcase their talents, America voted for Harborlites to take home the $10,000 grand prize!
Region 21 takes both Gold and Silver in Seattle!
Harborlites Chorus placed second in Seattle with our best score of 3011! Our Region 21 sisters from the Scottsdale Chorus won the gold with a record score of 3077! This is a first for any region! Congratulations also to our Chapter Quartets! 10th place medalists Shimmer! Hypnotic placed 13th also qualifying them for next years International Competition.
Harborlites Celebrates 50 years!
In August 1960, 21 women joined together in the spirit of harmony and lit a musical flame that continues to burn brightly in 2010: Harborlites!
Five incredible decades have ensued, decades of dreaming...learning...growing...sharing...achieving! The musical legacy built over these fifty years has touched the lives of many, and in fact, changed the lives of many.
Milestones such as this give us pause to reflect on the journey and to remember those who walked it with us. Our fellow members, our teachers and coaches, and our families. No journey of this magnitude can be walked alone.
Five decades later, the dreams of those founding members endure. This fall our journey takes us to Seattle, Washington, where Harborlites will vie for our third consecutive chorus championship! Our hearts are full of joy and anticipation as we work to perfect performances that will move our audiences and be worthy of the vision of 21 inspired women, fifty years ago.
