Chapter Quartets The Harborlites Chorus is proud to be the home of several competing and performing quartets. Our quartets include regional champions, regional medalists, and ensembles renowned for their entertaining harmonies. Razzcals

2008 3rd Place International Medalists Tenor - Dana Gibbs Lead - Martha Segura Bari - Cheri Jump Bass - Mary Segura Razzcals is a true by-product of the educational and growth opportunities provided by Sweet Adelines to women of all ages. Three quartet members, Martha, Cheri, and Dana, were introduced to Sweet Adelines while still in High School, and they have literally grown up singing 4-part harmony, barbershop style. Shimmer!

Shimmer! 2008 Sweet Adelines International 9th Place Quartet 1997, 2001, 2004, 2006 Region 11 Quartet Champions Tenor - Patty Cobb Baker Lead - Missy Pearce Bari - Judy Ashmore Bass - Mary Ashford Shimmer! has been a quartet for seventeen years, with baritone Judy Ashmore and lead Missy Pearce singing together all of those years. Bass Mary Ashford joined the quartet in 2002 and tenor Patty Cobb Baker joined in 2006. The Shimmer! sound is bright and clean, ringing and alive. The quartet hones their harmonizing skills together and with their wonderful choruses. Patty sings with Harborlites, Judy and Mary sing in the Channelaire Chorus, Missy sings in the Harmony Showcase Chorus, and Mary also directs the South Valley Sound Chorus. Their busy lives are full of music, singing, performance and many happy memories! Shimmer! has produced two CDs, Color Me Blue and Shimmer! Sound Waves. SparX! 2008 12th Place International - Qualified for Hawaii 2006 Region 21 Champions Tenor - Dawn Anne Gladden Lead - Dayle Ann Cook Bari - Kathy Barnett Bass - Andi Rostel SparX! were flying from the moment that this two-time regional championship quartet first sang together. Formed in 2002, SparX! won the highly competitive Region 21 championship in 2003, repeating the victory in 2004. This group represents the Southwest quite literally: its members travel from Tucson and Scottsdale, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and West Covina, California. We learned a handful of Christmas tunes and set out to make some music for people! We had so much fun together and discovered some goals in common and, before you know it, we were buying matching socks and trying to come up with a name to call ourselves! We settled in on "APPLAUSE!" and headed to our first contest in April of 2008. HAD A BLAST! HighLife Tenor - Becky La Bella Lead - Amber Carroll Bari - Carol Austin Bass - Diana Jones Formed in 2004 HighLife, attributes its sparkling blend to the mother-daughter combination between tenor Becky LaBella and her daughter, Amber LaBella Carroll. Baritone Carol Austin and Bass Diana Jones provide the rich foundation and marry the harmonies. All members proudly sing with the Harborlites Chorus and enjoy the same vocal production training on a weekly basis.

Pipe Dreams

Pipe Dreams Formed in the fall of 2006, Pipe Dreams is comprised of 4 very busy women! Tenor Stacey Conchelos sings on the front row of Channelaire Chorus (Region 11), and serves as Membership Coordinator. Pipe Dreams rehearses at her house, and Stacey is the self-appointed quartet caterer (every quartet needs one, right?!)!! There are always goodies when we arrive - her 2 teen-aged sons and husband can actually hear the sound of a cake being cut and come running! Lead Debbie Curtis never sleeps. In addition to being a 14-year member of Channelaire, she sings with the 2008 International Chorus Champions, Harborlites. Debbie is the Senior Project Manager for Vyant, a graphic design firm in Newbury Park. Baritone Monica Tautkus also doesn't get much sleep. In addition to keeping tabs on her 13-year old son, Jonathan's activities, Monica is the director of Agoura Hills Harmony (Region 11) and also sings with Harborlites Chorus. She was the baritone of the 1990 Region 11 Quartet Champions, Colors. Monica works in the amusement vending industry as the Asset Manager for Dandy Amusements in Simi Valley. Bass Dianne Aldrich sang with Debbie and Monica in their previous quartet, Show Stoppers, and is a bass with Verdugo Hills Showtime Chorus (Region 11), where she's also on the choreo. team. Dianne is a legal secretary with Kuzyk Law in Lancaster.
