Chapter Quartets The Harborlites Chorus is proud to be the home of several competing and performing quartets. Our quartets include regional champions, regional medalists, and ensembles renowned for their entertaining harmonies. This coast to coast adventure is a direct result of friendships made through years in Sweet Adelines. Though the distance may be thousands of miles, they bridge the country between them with their unique, special brand of friendship and harmony. You'll find Patty and husband Jeff Baker relaxing in hip Southern California, just steps away from the sand and surf of the Pacific Ocean. A short trip north to the majestic mountains of Oregon is where Kim and Tim McCormic spend their time in beautiful wine country. Across the continent in warm, sunny Florida is where Jan and Jerry Anton, as well as, Gina and her husband Jeff Baker call home. There they enjoy the many beaches of the Atlantic, lush golf courses, and an endless number of local attractions. Can you say Frequent Flyer Miles? And what's better than one Jeff Baker? Shimmer! 2012 13th Place International Quartet 2011 10th Place International Quartet 2010 12th Place International Quartet 2009 11th Place International Quartet 1997, 2001, 2004, 2006 Region 11 Quartet Champions Tenor - Missy Pearce Lead - Martha Segura Bari - Judy Ashmore Bass - Mary Ashford Shimmer! has been a quartet for seventeen years, with baritone Judy Ashmore and tenor Missy Pearce singing together all of those years. Bass Mary Ashford joined the quartet in 2002 and lead Martha Segura joined in 2010. The Shimmer! sound is bright and clean, ringing and alive. The quartet hones their harmonizing skills together and with their wonderful choruses. Mary and Missy sing with Harborlites, Judy sings in the Channelaire Chorus, Missy also sings in the Harmony Showcase Chorus, and Martha directs the Southern Oregon Sound Chorus while Mary also directs the South Valley Sound Chorus. Their busy lives are full of music, singing, performance and many happy memories! Shimmer! has produced two CDs, Color Me Blue and Shimmer! Sound Waves. Ms. Cellaneous 2011 Region 21 5th Place Medalists Scottsdale Chorus, Harborlites Chorus Tenor - Mary Branham Lead - Christina B. Robertson Bari - Susan E. Phinney Bass - Sarah Slade Ms. Cellaneous is a relatively new quartet that formed just before Region 21’s Spring contest in April, 2010. At their second competition they had the honor of earning their first quartet medals as a foursome when they placed 5th in Region 21's 2011 Spring Contest. They describe themselves as an accumulation of odds and ends (everything short of the kitchen sink). The tenor, Mary Branham, of Chandler, Arizona, is a computer guru, always looking for the latest technology. The lead, Chris Robertson, of Yucaipa, California, is a retired High School Math Teacher, have slide rule, will travel! The bass, Sarah Slade, of Chandler, Arizona, is a diehard baseball fan – Go Diamondbacks! The baritone, Susan Phinney, of Long Beach, California, is a fashionista heavy into men’s pants. Now don’t panic she works for Levi Strauss. These women all share a common love of four legged creatures, road trips and breakfast at 3 am at Denny’s. Put it all together and you have four ladies who like to live, laugh and love life to the fullest via their barbershop harmony! Mary and Sarah are members of the 2011 International Chorus Champions The Scottsdale Chorus. Chris and Susan are members of the 2011 International Silver Medalist Chorus Harborlites.
